INSIDE-OUT rev '90 ep (big up 2 joehell)

Burning Fight lyrics (big up 2 Joehell)

I'll reach out my hand and you'll turn the other way.
I'm only trying to extend myself, to communicate.
I try and I try and I try, there's no response from you.
So now I refuse to waste my, waste my time, to waste my f**king time on you.

I refuse to let myself down by falsely putting judgement on you.
To make myself look higher, higher - only to be knocked down by the truth.
I will never choose a different path; I will never turn away from you.
Your attitude is an example of this, which has become for me a Burning Fight.
Not to change your opinion of me; but to try to help you see what's right.

And I will never choose a different path; ya I will never turn away from you.
I will never choose a different path; and I will never f**king be like you!
Ya, it's my Burning Fight, my Burning Fight.
This is my Burning Fight, my Burning Fight.

Sacrifice lyrics:

i gave, I gave, you indulged yourself and robbed from my good will.
If not you who can I trust? Who can I trust to be fulfilled?
Sacrifice.
I've done more than my share.
I kept you from drowning when I couldn't swim.
Now I'm sinking and you're not there.

You're not there.
You're not there.
You're not there.

So now I choke on every word that I said to your pretty face.
Like when I said that no one better, no one better could take your place.
Betrayal - lies: Lies thick in the air.
And should the bottom fall out on your life you'll turn around and I'm not there.

I'm not there.
I'm not there.
I'm not there.

Don't waste your time insulting me, I'd do anything.
You take and you take then you just give it away.
So how can I give any more?
There will be no more - there will be no more sacrifice.

johnny clarke: none shall escape the judgement (amazing reggae singer)

Johnny Clarke None Shall Escape This Judgement Lyrics

None shall escape the judgment in this time
These words I sing to all mankind
None shall escape the judgment in this time
These words I sing to all mankind

Arise black man, Jehovah has come
Forwarding to Babylon
To declare equal rights and justice
Among the heathen

Yes, the weak heart must fall
Only the righteous shall stand
In this congregation of Jah hola one
Anything Jah say, I will always do
Anything Jah say, I will always do

Because I love him, because I love him
I'll love Him, I'll serve Him
All the days of I life
In the house of the Lord God Jah RasTafari

I'll love Him, I'll serve Him
All the days of I life
In the house of the Lord God Jah RasTafari

As I approach the gates of Zion
I can hear the choir singing
As I approach the gates of Zion
I can hear the choir singing

I'll love Him, I'll serve Him
All the days of I life
In the house of the Lord God Jah RasTafari

I'll love Him, I'll serve Him
All the days of I life
In the house of the Lord God Jah RasTafari
I'll love Him, I'll serve Him

None shall escape the judgment in this time
These words I sing to all mankind
None shall escape the judgment in this time
These words I sing to all mankind

crushing '82 live of Black flag (rollins/ biscuits)...

What you get here are two excellent Black Flag shows from their "lost" 1982 era. The only other available recordings of this lineup exist on the 1982 demos bootleg and a few inferior quality live bootlegs that have been floating around the 'net. This is Black Flag's greatest lineup, hands down and it's great to hear them in perfect quality.

Let's dwell a bit on this monster lineup. The dual guitars of Greg Ginn and Dez Cadena are truly the way Black Flag was meant to be. Anyone who knows Greg Ginn's work knows this guy was the master of atonal noise, lightening fast riffs and bizarre guitar leads. He doesn't disappoint here. 2nd guitarist Dez Cadena provides the perfect rhythm guitar for Ginn to lead over.
The twin guitar assault wall of sound was perfect for Black Flag. I always wondered why Black Flag did not recruit another guitarist after Dez left the band.

Chuck Dukowski's distorted bass sounds meaner than anything I've ever heard. It's perfect. Chuck Biscuits (who later drummed in another favorite band of mine, Danzig) drums on this and was truly Black Flag's greatest drummer. He's fast and hard hitting here. The perfect compliment to Dukowski's bass playing. Probably the best rhythm section in punk rock. And I don't care what anyone says, Rollins was the best singer in Black Flag.

The set features a wide array of songs including stuff that would not be officially released on albums until a few years down the road. The versions of "Scream" and "Modern Man" annihilate the versions that ended up being recorded with a totally different line up years later. The band also does plenty of pre-Rollins material which is really cool to hear with Hank on vocals. Damaged-era material is also obviously found on here as well as live versions of the b-sides from the TV Party 7" which is a pleasant surprise.

How does this compare with other live Black Flag releases? Well, this is way better than the atrocious "Who's Got The 10 1/2" live album. The "Live In 84" albums is great and also a must have but I got to say this tops even that. Kira and Bill were awesome on bass and drums but they just weren't as good as the rhythm section of Chuck "The Duke" Dukowski and Chuck Biscuits.

A few things to take note of:

-"No Martyrs" is better known to Black Flag fan's as the song "Yes I Know" of which there is no official studio recording. Many fans know it from the excellent 1982 demos bootleg which contains a great studio version of the track.

-"My Life" is actually the song "Damaged I".

-Dez's guitar can be a little low in the mix sometimes which is pretty much the only complaint I have about this otherwise magnificent release

-The version of "Depression" from the first show is pretty bad but the version of it from the 2nd show is perfect.

-Last, but not least, this is the greatest live album from Black Flag!
